The Father of the Nation

The Father of the Nation,Class 2 English Chapter 7 The Father of the Nation// Complete Solution , class 2 English chapter 7 ka question answer

Do you know who is the father of our nation?

India is our nation. There was a great man born in our nation. He was Mahatma Gandhi. Before this name his name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. People called him Bapu.

Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869. He was born at Porbandar in Gujarat. His father's name was Karamchand Gandhi. His mother's name was Putlibai. His mother was a very pious lady. She wanted to make him a man of character. Gandhiji was very obedient to his parents. He was very truthful since his childhood.

We know our country was slave. Englishmen were ruling over our country. They were from other country. They had no love and sympathy for our countrymen. Their behaviour was bad with Indians. Gandhiji did not like all these. He came ahead to make India free from the English rule. He fought for the freedom of India. After a long struggle Gandhi ji made our country India free. India became free on 15th August 1947.

Gandhi ji was a great man. He gave us free India. He gave us the lesson of 'Truth' and 'Ahimsa'. He did not tell a lie. He was fond of children. He loved children very much. He was a lover of peace. He loved harijans very much.

Gandhiji was shot dead on 30 January 1948 by Nathuram Godse. He died with 'Hey Ram'.

Now Gandhi ji is no more in the world. But he is alive because of his great deeds. We call him the father of the nation.
