 Class 5 English Chapter 2 The Puppet with Hindi Translation 

Long long ago there was a kind king. His name was Rajendra. He had a son named Himanshu. When the king grew old, he wanted to make his the future king of the state. He called on all his ministers.  After discussion it was announced that the prince will be crowned on an auspicious day. 

बहुत समय पहले एक दयालु राजा था।  उसका नाम राजेंद्र था।  उनका हिमांशु नाम का एक पुत्र था।  राजा जब बूढ़ा हुआ तो वह अपने पुत्र को राज्य का भावी राजा बनाना चाहता था। उन्होंने अपने सभी मंत्रियों से मुलाकात की। चर्चा के बाद यह घोषणा की गई कि राजकुमार को शुभ दिन पर ताज पहनाया जाएगा।

The news spread in the state like fire in jungle. People were also happy. They were going to get a new king. The preparation was going on in the palace. It was decorated as a new bride. Roads were being cleaned. People started white washing their houses. There was a great joy everywhere.

यह खबर राज्य में जंगल में आग की तरह फैल गई।  लोग भी खुश थे।  उन्हें एक नया राजा मिलने वाला था।  महल में तैयारी चल रही थी।  इसे नई दुल्हन के रूप में सजाया गया था।  सड़कों की सफाई की जा रही थी।  लोग अपने घरों में सफेदी करने लगे।  हर तरफ बड़ी खुशी थी।

Amidst all these preparation, one day Rajguru came to the palace. The king stood up from his throne and touched the feet of Rajguru. He was provided a seat higher than the king.

 इन सारी तैयारियों के बीच एक दिन राजगुरु महल में आए।  राजा अपने सिंहासन से उठ खड़ा हुआ और राजगुरु के पैर छुए।  उन्हे राजा से ऊँचा स्थान प्रदान किया गया।

The king said, " It is our pleasure, you have come here. I request you to stay with us for some days. The Prince is going to be crowned after a week."

राजा ने कहा, "यह हमारी खुशी है, आप यहां आए हैं। मैं आपसे कुछ दिनों के लिए हमारे साथ रहने का अनुरोध करता हूं। एक सप्ताह के बाद राजकुमार को ताज पहनाया जा रहा है।"

Rajguru said," I cannot stay here for so many days. I am going to the Himalayas. When I hear this news, I came here to meet you.

 राजगुरु ने कहा, "मैं यहां इतने दिनों तक नहीं रह सकता। मैं हिमालय जा रहा हूं। जब मैंने यह खबर सुनी, तो मैं यहां आपसे मिलने आया था।

Please bless the prince with your guidelines so that he may serve the state in better way" said the king.

कृपया राजकुमार को अपने दिशा-निर्देशों से आशीर्वाद दें ताकि वह राज्य की बेहतर तरीके से सेवा कर सके" राजा ने कहा।

Rajguru said," I have brought a unique gift for the prince. It will be very useful for him."

राजगुरु ने कहा, "मैं राजकुमार के लिए एक अनोखा उपहार लाया हूं। यह उसके लिए बहुत उपयोगी होगा।"

The prince was eager to see the gift of Rajguru. Happiness could be seen on his face. He was waiting patiently for the gift. 

राजकुमार राजगुरु का उपहार देखने के लिए उत्सुक था।  उनके चेहरे पर खुशी साफ देखी जा सकती थी।  वह धैर्यपूर्वक उपहार की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा था।

Rajguru put his hand into his bag and took out three puppets. He said, " Prince Himanshu, come and take this gift. It is a gift for the future king of the state.

राजगुरु ने अपने थैली में हाथ डाला और तीन कठपुतलियाँ निकालीं।  उन्होंने कहा, "राजकुमार हिमांशु, आओ और यह उपहार ले लो। यह राज्य के भावी राजा के लिए एक उपहार है।

The Prince accepted the gift gracefully but he was perplexed why Rajguru gave him puppets. He said," I am not a child. What will I do with these puppets. There is no use of puppets for me."

राजकुमार ने उपहार को शालीनता से स्वीकार किया लेकिन वह हैरान था कि राजगुरु ने उसे कठपुतली क्यों दी।  उसने कहा, "मैं बच्चा नहीं हूं। मैं इन कठपुतलियों का क्या करूंगा। मेरे लिए कठपुतली का कोई उपयोग नहीं है।"

Rajguru smiled and put his hand into the bag again. This time there was a string in his hand. He give the string to the prince. The Prince took the string. He wanted to know what to do with the string. 

राजगुरु मुस्कुराए और फिर से थैली में हाथ डाला।  इस बार उनके हाथ में एक डोरी थी।  वह राजकुमार को तार देता है।  राजकुमार ने तार ले लिया।  वह जानना चाहता था कि तार के साथ क्या करना है।

Rajguru said, " Watch this puppet carefully. There is a hole in the ear of each puppet. Pass this string through the puppets.

राजगुरु ने कहा, "इस कठपुतली को ध्यान से देखो। प्रत्येक कठपुतली के कान में एक छेद है। इस तार को कठपुतली के आर-पार करें।

Though the prince was not much interested, he obeyed Rajguru. He put the string into the ear of the first puppet. The string came out from the other ear.

हालांकि राजकुमार को ज्यादा दिलचस्पी नहीं थी, उन्होंने राजगुरु की बात मानी।  उसने पहली कठपुतली के कान में डोरी डाल दी।  दूसरे कान से तार निकल आया।

Then Rajguru explained," This is one type of person. Whatever you say to him, It comes out from the other ear. He has no capacity to retain anything. 

तब राजगुरु ने समझाया, "यह एक प्रकार का व्यक्ति है। आप उससे जो कुछ भी कहते हैं, वह दूसरे कान से निकलता है। उसके पास कुछ भी रखने की क्षमता नहीं है।

The prince took the second puppet. He put the string into the ear of the second puppet. The string came out from the mouth. 

राजकुमार ने दूसरी कठपुतली ली।  उसने दूसरी कठपुतली के कान में डोरी डाल दी।  मुंह से तार निकल आया।

The prince asked," What does it mean, Rajguru?"

राजकुमार ने पूछा, "इसका क्या मतलब है, राजगुरु?"

This is the second type of person. If you tell him anything,  he tells others about it. He can not hold any word in his mind " said Rajguru.

यह दूसरे प्रकार का व्यक्ति है।  अगर आप उसे कुछ बताते हैं, तो वह दूसरों को इसके बारे में बताता है।  वह अपने मन में एक भी शब्द नहीं रख सकता" राजगुरु ने कहा।

The prince was ready to put the string into the ear of the third puppet. When the prince did so, the string did not come out from any side . The prince could not understand anything. He was watching the face of Rajguru. He wanted to know the quality of the third puppet. 

राजकुमार तीसरी कठपुतली के कान में डोरी डालने को तैयार था।  जब राजकुमार ने ऐसा किया तो डोरी किसी ओर से नहीं निकली।  राजकुमार को कुछ समझ नहीं आया।  वह राजगुरु का चेहरा देख रहा था।  वह तीसरी कठपुतली की गुणवत्ता जानना चाहता था।

Rajguru told the prince," This is the third type of person. Whatever you tell him. It remains within him. It will never come out. 

राजगुरु ने राजकुमार से कहा, "यह तीसरे प्रकार का व्यक्ति है। आप उसे जो कुछ भी कहते हैं। वह उसके भीतर रहता है। यह कभी बाहर नहीं आएगा।

The prince asked," Who is the best type of person for a king?" 

राजकुमार ने पूछा, "राजा के लिए सबसे अच्छा व्यक्ति कौन है?"

Rajguru did not reply. Once again he put his hand into his bag. This time he had one more puppet in his hand.  He gave it to the prince and told him to do the same with the puppet. 

राजगुरु ने कोई उत्तर नहीं दिया।  एक बार फिर उसने अपना हाथ अपने थैली में रखा।  इस बार उनके हाथ में एक और कठपुतली थी।  उसने राजकुमार को दिया और उसे कठपुतली के साथ भी ऐसा ही करने को कहा।

The prince put the string into the ear of the fourth puppet. It came out from the other ear. Rajguru asked the prince to repeat the process. Second time, the string came out from the mouth. When the prince put the string into the ear third time, it did not come out. The prince was astonished at it. Rajguru said," This is the best type of person. A man who knows when not to listen, when to remain silent and when to speak is trustworthy."

राजकुमार ने चौथी कठपुतली के कान में डोरी डाल दी।  यह दूसरे कान से निकला।  राजगुरु ने राजकुमार से इस प्रक्रिया को दोहराने के लिए कहा।  दूसरी बार मुंह से डोरी निकली।  राजकुमार ने तीसरी बार कान में डोरी डाली तो वह बाहर नहीं निकला।  यह देखकर राजकुमार चकित रह गया।  राजगुरु ने कहा, "यह सबसे अच्छे प्रकार का व्यक्ति है। एक आदमी जो जानता है कि कब नहीं सुनना है, कब चुप रहना है और कब बोलना है, वह भरोसेमंद है।"

The prince got the most precious lesson of his life. Rajguru blessed the prince and departed from the palace. The prince always remembered the words of Rajguru. He became a very successful king. He was very popular among people for his justice.

राजकुमार को अपने जीवन का सबसे कीमती सबक मिला।  राजगुरु ने राजकुमार को आशीर्वाद दिया और महल से चले गए।  राजकुमार को राजगुरु की बातें हमेशा याद रहती थीं।  वह एक बहुत ही सफल राजा बन गया।  वह अपने न्याय के लिए लोगों के बीच बहुत लोकप्रिय था।
