The kind king दयालु राजा
Once upon a time, there was a king in ancient India. He was very brave and kind. He won many states and established a vast Kingdom. He built roads for people.There were trees beside the roads. He built rest houses for the poor.
एक बार की बात है, प्राचीन भारत में एक राजा था। वह बहुत बहादुर और दयालु था। उसने कई राज्यों को जीता और एक विशाल राज्य की स्थापना की। उसने लोगों के लिए सड़कें बनाईं।सड़कों के किनारे पेड़ थे। उन्होंने गरीबों के लिए विश्राम गृह बनवाए।
On the eve of Diwali, he used to distribute gold coins among poor people. He had a white elephant. There was a big round umbrella on the back of the elephant. The body of the elephant was covered with silk cloth. The clothes and the umbrella were studded with precious stones. Sitting on the elephant and the king was distributing coins. People standing on the both sides of the road were taking coins. When the king was returning, an old man came near the elephant. He stole a pearl from the cloth of the elephant. One of the soldiers saw him and caught him. The king ordered the soldier to beat him. The old man was severely beaten. He lost his sense. When he got his sense he was brought before the king.
दिवाली की पूर्व संध्या पर वह गरीबों में सोने के सिक्के बाँटता था। उसके पास एक सफेद हाथी था। हाथी की पीठ पर एक बड़ा गोल छाता था। हाथी का शरीर रेशमी कपड़े से ढका हुआ था। कपड़े और छाता कीमती पत्थरों से जड़ा हुआ था। हाथी पर बैठकर राजा सिक्के बाँट रहे थे। सड़क के दोनों ओर खड़े लोग सिक्के ले जा रहे थे। जब राजा लौट रहा था तो एक बूढ़ा हाथी के पास आया। उसने हाथी के कपड़े से एक मोती चुरा लिया। एक सिपाही ने उसे देखा और पकड़ लिया। राजा ने सिपाही को उसे पीटने का आदेश दिया। वृद्ध को बुरी तरह पीटा गया। वह होश खो बैठा। जब उसे होश आया तो उसे राजा के सामने लाया गया।
The king asked, "Why did you steal"?
राजा ने पूछा, "तुमने चोरी क्यों की"?
The old man said, "My Lord, I am a poor man".
बूढ़े ने कहा, "मेरे भगवान, मैं एक गरीब आदमी हूँ"।
"I was distributing coins" .
"मैं सिक्के बांट रहा था"।
"Yes, it is right. I am old and weak. I could not get any coin in that crowd."
"हाँ, यह सही है। मैं बूढ़ा और कमजोर हूँ। उस भीड़ में मुझे कोई सिक्का नहीं मिला।"
"Why do you want coin?"
"आपको सिक्का क्यों चाहिए?"
"I have a young daughter to marry. I have no money for it."
"मेरी शादी करने के लिए एक युवती बेटी है। मेरे पास इसके लिए पैसे नहीं हैं।"
"What do you want now?"
"तुम अब क्या चाहते हो?"
The old man said, "I have heard about you. You are as much kind as angry. I have already seen your anger. Now I want to see your kindness.
बूढ़े ने कहा, "मैंने तुम्हारे बारे में सुना है। तुम क्रोध के समान दयालु हो। मैंने तुम्हारा क्रोध पहले ही देख लिया है। अब मैं तुम्हारी दया देखना चाहता हूँ।
The king thought for a moment. He ordered his men to give a bag of coins to the old man. The old man went from their happily. He arranged the marriage of his daughter. The king came to bless the bride and the bridegroom. He announced there "from today I shall provide all facilities for the marriage of a poor girl".
राजा ने एक पल के लिए सोचा। उसने अपने आदमियों को बूढ़े आदमी को सिक्कों का एक थैला देने का आदेश दिया। बूढ़ा उनके पास से खुशी-खुशी चला गया। उन्होंने अपनी बेटी की शादी की व्यवस्था की। राजा दूल्हा और दुल्हन को आशीर्वाद देने आया था। उन्होंने वहाँ घोषणा की "आज से मैं एक गरीब लड़की की शादी के लिए सभी सुविधाएं प्रदान करूंगा"।
